Qualifying Shows. Points for the Year End High Point Awards are earned at the
o Chamisa Classic
o Zia Classic
o Chile Roast
Eligibility. Enrollment in the program is automatic, and any AHANM member competing
at a qualifying show is eligible for the program. Competitors must have an active
AHANM membership on the date of the qualifying competition in order for any points
earned at that show to count toward a Year End High Point Award.
Award Period. Points accrue fromJanuary1,2017 through November 1, 2017.
Point Scale. Competitors earn one point for every horse in the class that they beat, plus
one point for themselves, up to six points per class. For example, in a ten horse class, the
first place horse earns six points, second place earns five points, third places earns four
points, fourth earns three points, fifth earns two points, and sixth place earns one point.
For concurrent and double-judged shows, competitors will earn points under each judge.
Horse/Rider Combination. Points are earned and tracked according to horse/rider
combination. While amateurs and youth may earn points in open, limit horse, or junior
horse classes, points earned by professionals in such classes will not be counted toward
amateur or youth awards. However, these points will count toward the Arabian or Half-
Arabian/Anglo-Arabian open overall awards.
All Breed Points. Points earned in All Breed classes will count only toward All Breed
awards. They will not count toward Arabian or Half-Arabian/Anglo- Arabian awards,
even if earned by an Arabian or Half-Arabian/Anglo- Arabian.
