2023 End of Year
High Point Awards
High Point Award winners will be announced at the annual End of Year Banquet.
Eligibility
Rider/Handler must be a current youth or adult member in good standing of AHANM at the time points are earned. Club 8082 is included in AHA membership. This includes All Breed contenders.
General Program Rules:
1. Must attend at least 2 of 3 shows in 2023 for overall high point saddles. Only 1 Show minimum for all division awards.
2. Points will be tracked automatically. No reporting is necessary.
3. Division awards are horse/rider combinations.
4. Overall high point saddles are with all riders/handlers and all points earned by the horse. This includes professionals and amateurs/youth.
5. The point scale is based on a max of 6 points per class. Each placing is awarded 1 point for each horse they place above, plus themselves. Example: In a class of 4, 1st place gets 4 points, 2nd gets 3, 3rd gets 2 and 4th gets 1 point. In a class of 10, the maximum points are 6 for 1st, 5 for 2nd, 4 for 3rd, and so on. Single-entry classes get one point.
6. In the case of a tie for a division or overall, the winner is picked by the greatest number of 1st place winnings in classes of more than 1 entry.
7. Arabians and Half Arabian points will go to their respective divisions. All Breed class placings count toward the Overall Saddles only, not division awards. This means Arabians and HA may show in all-breed classes and those points will go to the Overall only.
8. Any breed, excluding registered Arabian and HA, are eligible to win all-breed awards.
9. AQHA awards are restricted to registered AQHA horses. Any additional breed-restricted awards will have the same criteria.
10. Final standings will be presented with awards at the Annual Awards Banquet in January following the competition year.
11. Equitation points will go to the discipline the seat represents. (ex: Horsemanship is western, showmanship is halter)
12. Open classes ridden by amateurs will go towards their amateur/youth divisions.
13. Divisions may be combined or further split by Awards Committee based on participation.
14. Special recognition for Rookie of the Year, Versatile Youth, and Ambassador are determined by Committee based on full-year participation and results.
15. More breeds and discipline-specific awards may be developed with support/sponsorships.
Division awards will vary based on sponsorships raised throughout the year. Buckles, trophies, tack, apparel, and gift certificates are some examples of awards presented.
